Traditional asset management and family offices are returning to the crypto market, with single option portfolio transactions reaching several billion dollars in scale.
Lin Chen, Head of APAC Business at Deribit, posted on X that some traditional large asset management institutions and high-net-worth clients/family offices have recently increased their allocations to the crypto market again, with single trades reaching several billion dollars. He said that these institutions mainly allocate through derivatives, especially option strategies, to manage position risk and exposure, and that these clients re-entered after about a year of waiting.
Traditional asset managers and family offices are re-entering crypto via billion-dollar options portfolios after a year; this signals returning institutional risk appetite and deeper derivatives liquidity, which can improve BTC/ETH exposure and market sentiment, so short-term bullish (medium).
