Sparkassen opens Bitcoin trading via DekaBank application
The German savings banks group Sparkassen has enabled Bitcoin trading through DekaBank’s banking app. DekaBank currently lists five savings banks participating in the service, and more than 230 additional savings banks have expressed a willingness to participate. According to information disclosed by DekaBank, each Bitcoin trade is charged a €0.99 fee plus an added spread, and withdrawals are limited to custodian institutions approved by it. DekaBank is the securities services and asset management institution of the German savings banks financial group, and this time it has directly integrated Bitcoin trading into the existing banking app used by the savings banks.
Sparkassen's move to enable Bitcoin trading through DekaBank's app gives traditional German banking customers a regulated, convenient entry point, which expands potential retail demand and strengthens the institutional adoption narrative. Since the network is large and 230 more banks have expressed interest, this signals a broadening access channel for BTC despite the initial small rollout, so BTC is short-term bullish (medium).
