When we made transactions there is always a Unit called GWEI. But What is GWEI? How do I set MetaMask Default GWEI? If you do not know yet, this article is for you.
What is GWEI?
Gui. Gwei is the unit of ether, the smallest denomination, representing gigawei (or 1,000,000,000). Gwei is used to pay for gas, or rather what users pay to compensate for the computational energy required to process and validate transactions on the Ethereum blockchain.
What is GEWI in MetaMask?
Just open MetaMask and go to Activities. You should see your transaction at the top with an available acceleration box. Click on Accelerate and it will open a window titled "Accelerate Transaction". What we want to adjust is the Gas Price, which is given in a form called gwei (a fraction of ETH).
How do I set MetaMask to default GWEI?
If you want to control and set MetaMask gas fees (GWEI), here is the step-by-step process for both Extension and Mobile:
For Extension:
- Click on your account icon and find Advanced Gas Controls under Advanced in the settings menu
- After flicking this switch, the option to "edit" gas will appear when sending a transaction
- Clicking Edit should allow you to modify the three applicable fields:
Gas Limit: 21000Max Priority Fee (GWEI): 1.5
Max Fee (GWEI): 94.407389874
For Mobile:
MetaMask Mobile already has the built-in ability to precisely configure gases; you don't need to enable it in settings.
When you get to the final screen before sending the transaction, you will see the "Estimated Gas Fee". On the right, the fee will be underlined in blue
Click on a fee and a menu with a slider will appear, as well as another option to click on Advanced Options. When you do this, this menu will open and you will have the opportunity to fully customize your gas.
Now I hope you will know how do I set MetaMask default GWEI and what is GWEI in MetaMask. Advanced Gas Control is a current feature available to all Mobile and Extension users. It allows you to customize the gas limit, maximum priority fee, and maximum fee for your transaction.
