An American non-fungible token marketplace called OpenSea is based in New York City. OpenSea is a decentralized, blockchain-based platform used for buying, selling, and trading NFTs via smart contracts. The platform's smart contracts are programmed to prevent fraud, and creators are free to set the price at which they want to sell their tokens. This guide will lead you on how to set royalties on OpenSea. If you are a creator who is interested in trading NFTs on OpenSea, this article is for you.

How To Set Royalties On OpenSea

If you have implemented a custom contract, you MUST set up your royalties on OpenSea in order to be compensated for secondary market sales.

Please note that OpenSea refers to contracts as collections when you access your custom contract there. Click on the contract name at the top of any NFT you have created. Click the pencil icon to make changes to the bespoke contract.

You can choose a fee of up to 10% in the percentage fee box and your payout wallet address to specify your royalties.

For your changes to be saved, be sure to click "Submit." Please be aware that primary sales are also subject to royalties for OpenSea. This means that your royalties will be paid to you separately.

How Often Does OpenSea Pay Out Royalties?

NFTs have a cool feature that enables creators to receive fair compensation for their digital work: the ability to program them to pay a creator earnings fee each time the NFT is sold. Every time an NFT is transferred from one wallet to another after a purchase, the creator is compensated.

How To View Royalty On OpenSea?

Go to your collection page, select Creator earnings from the three-dot menu in the top right, and then view your creator earnings payouts. The cryptocurrency of the sale will always be used to pay out creator earnings.

Creator fee proportions can only be changed by the collection's owner. When editing creator fees, if you receive an error message, you must request the collection owner to make the necessary changes.

Summary

The answer for how to set royalties on OpenSea is to go to your collection page, pick Creator earnings from the three-dot menu in the top right, and then examine your creator earnings payouts. The cryptocurrency of the sale will always be used to pay out creator earnings. Creator fee proportions can only be changed by the collection's owner. When altering creator fees, if you receive an error warning, you must request the collection owner to make the necessary changes.
