PayPal is an online payment platform that provides low-cost services to individuals and businesses. PayPal, in addition to online payments, provides a number of services such as debit cards for payments, credit card readers for small merchants, and lines of credit. I believe that you are asking yourself “how to set up a PayPal account?” since you are reading this article. Let’s not waste time. Let’s get to the point.
How To Set Up A Paypal Account?
We can make a PayPal account in just seven simple steps. Those are:
Request that you sign up PayPal
In your web browser, navigate to www paypal com and click Sign Up in the top-right corner.
Choose to sign up a personal PayPal account
We assume you'll be using PayPal to pay for purchases (both online and offline) and send money to others, rather than accepting payments from people you sell things to. In that case, click Create a Personal Account.
Provide your email address, a password (and a copy), and your country of residence
Following that, you must enter your basic account information. Click in each of the highlighted boxes and enter or type in the following:
- your country of residence - your email address - a password to protect your account - a copy of the password you just entered
When you're finished, click Next.
Please provide any additional personal information
Next, enter your personal information so that PayPal can link your account to your credit card, debit card, or bank account.
Enter the following:
- your first and middle names (optional)
- your surname
- your birth date (in numeric day/month/year format)
- your occupation
- your social security number (optional)
- your street address
- your apartment number (optional)
- your zip code
- the city where you live
- the state, province, or territory where you live
- your phone number (click the menu beside it to select Mobile or Home number)
If you don't want to receive emails from PayPal about updates and promotions on PayPal's services, uncheck the box here.
Include your credit card as a PayPal payment option
The following step is to connect your credit or debit card to your PayPal account. This allows you to use PayPal to shop in stores both online and in person and have the purchase automatically charged to your credit card.
PayPal will assume that your credit card billing address is the same as the personal address you provided in the previous step. If it isn't, click Edit and enter the correct street address, unit address (optional), mailing code, city, state/province/territory, and zip code.
After you've finished filling out all of your information, click Link Card.
If you don't have a credit card or don't want to add it as a PayPal payment option, select I'd Rather Link My Bank Account First.
Include your bank account as a PayPal payment option
You can link your bank account(s) to your PayPal account once you've linked your credit card. If you don't want to link your bank account(s) to PayPal right now, choose I'll Link My Bank Account Later (click the button that appears after this to confirm).
Check your email address
There is one more thing you must do to complete the account setup process: verify your email address. You can't use your PayPal account unless you do! Log in to your email program. Locate the PayPal Service email titled "Welcome to PayPal" and click on it to open it. Simply click the blue button from there. In the email, click the Yes, This Is My Email Address button.
You must enter your PayPal account password to complete the confirmation of your email address. Click in the "Password" box and enter the password you chose to protect your PayPal account. Then, on the right, click Confirm My Email Address.
That's all! Your PayPal account is now active, and you can begin using it right away! Our next lesson will cover how to transfer money to your PayPal account balance. So, I guess you got the answer for “How To Set Up A Paypal Account?”
