The CEO of blockchain intelligence platform Arkham, Miguel Morel, has dismissed claims from the cryptocurrency community that its new "Intel Exchange" is a system for whistleblowers or doxxing. During a Twitter Space discussion on July 11, Morel addressed the criticism around ing the platform Arkham's Intel Exchange aims to de-anonymize the blockchain by rewarding users with the ARKM token for revealing the identities behind anonymous blockchain addresses. However, it quickly faced backlash and was labeled a whistleblowing system.
Morel defended the platform, stating that its purpose is to expose scammers and hackers involved in cryptocurrency breaches rather than being a whistleblowing system. He emphasized that a publicly available blockchain is not an effective means of keeping private information private. Additionally, Morel clarified that Arkham would retain control of the data and that there are restrictions and guidelines in place to ensure responsible information sharing. The platform's main focus is on discovering trading houses, market makers, exchanges, and large institutions.
However, concerns were raised regarding the potential for abuse and false accusations facilitated by Arkham. Morel asserted that the platform would be properly governed and subject to scrutiny and regulation, even more so than platforms like Twitter or Facebook. TV host Ran Neuner expressed concerns about Arkham's management of user data, highlighting the recent incident where user emails were leaked through the web link referral program due to easily decipherable characters in referral links.
Despite the controversy surrounding Arkham's Intel Exchange, Morel and his team are determined to address the criticisms and implement the necessary measures to ensure responsible information sharing and prevent any misuse of the platform.
