The BCP's strategy involves educating and collaborating with various stakeholders within the Philippine blockchain ecosystem, including government agencies, Web3 developers, civil society organizations, and businesses. Through its partnership with DICT, which is responsible for the country's ICT agenda, BCP aims to leverage the Existing momentum in blockchain innovation and success in the Philippines.
Emmy Lou Versoza-Delfin, Director of DICT, expressed the country's readiness for blockchain adoption and its potential to become a leader in blockchain education and industry. She highlighted the rise of innovative blockchain startups, the success of blockchain-based business solution actions, and initiatives aimed at utilizing blockchain for public good.
In a separate interview, Ethen Rose, the founder of Pouch, a wallet service supporting Bitcoin's Lightning Network in the Philippines, discussed the challenges of introducing Bitcoin to the country. Pouch is currently marketing BTC to merchants as a way to attract customers to their businesses , aiming to showcase the benefits and possibilities of cryptocurrency adoption.
