Web3 data company Space and Time announced that developers can now deploy their data warehouses directly from Azure Marketplace, Microsoft's online store for services and applications for use on Azure.
In an announcement sent to Cointelegraph, Space and Time said developers will have an accelerated on-ramp to access, analyze and manage native blockchain data. This enables developers to quickly load large enterprise data volumes into smart contracts and new use cases for indexing blockchain data. Through the integration, businesses will be able to access decentralized data without rebuilding existing infrastructure. According to the announcement, this will allow businesses to build blockchains without sacrificing security and computing power.
Space and Time CEO Nate Holiday commented that verifiable data across blockchain, enterprise and artificial intelligence (AI) is important. Holiday explained: "We provide enterprises with the ability to integrate blockchain data into their applications and business processes, which is critical to both customer growth and enabling responsible data stewards."
Microsoft Azure executive Kathleen Mitford said the new development gives developers the tools they need to create next-generation blockchain use cases. "At Microsoft, we're driving growth in emerging markets -- including blockchain and distributed data," Mitford added. Microsoft is one of many backers of the Web3 data company. On September 22, 2022, Microsoft's M12 Fund joined Space and Time's strategic funding round, along with Avalanche, Polygon, HashKey and other investors.
In other news, Microsoft has been developing AI chips to reduce development costs for OpenAI and internal projects, according to a report. The recently revealed joint venture appears to be aimed at reducing the company's reliance on Nvidia graphics processing units.
