Cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 technology developer OKX, which has been active in the space for the last month, has just released the first immersive metaverse fan experience segment of its "OKX Collective."
On April 3, the company revealed a collaboration with one of its brand ambassadors, Manchester City footballer Rúben Dias, called Train Like Dias. According to the announcement, fans can virtually experience Dias' favorite training techniques and gain access to coaches and techniques. The experience is open to fans in the OKX Collective metaverse.
Haider Rafique, OKX Global Chief Marketing Officer, commented that the new immersive experience helps connect fans and is “another great example of what this technology allows.” "The possibilities that Web3 can offer are enormous and are only limited by our own imagination. OKX and Manchester City officially become a partnership in July 2022, and the platform hints at future Web3 content from other players in the squad, including Alex Greenwood, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish .
As "Train Like Dias" sees, the Metaverse remains the next frontier for exploring the connection between physical reality and Web3 applications. However, recent events around Metaverse development have been mixed after Disney reportedly canceled its Metaverse division.
Just a week ago, rumors began to circulate that Animoca Brands a well-known Metaverse developer in the space cut its Metaverse Fund by roughly $200 million. Animoca immediately denied the claims. South Korea, on the other hand, launched the “Metaverse Fund” on March 12, aiming to accelerate domestic metaverse initiatives. Automaker Nissan has also recently applied for several Web3 trademarks and test-marketed them in the Metaverse.
