The UK has outlined five key "ambitions" for an upcoming global artificial intelligence (AI) security summit set to occur on November 1 and 2. This summit aims to convene thought leaders, including academics, policymakers, and prominent tech companies AI inv olved in development, to establish a consensus on regulating AI technology.
The summit's primary focus will be on the risks associated with, or exacerbated by, the most powerful AI systems and the imperative for action. Additionally, it will explore how the responsible development of AI can benefit the public and enhance overall quality of life.
International cooperation concerning AI safety will also be a central theme, discussing ways to support international law and AI safety measures adopted by various organizations. The summit will delve into potential collaborative efforts in AI safety research.
The event will be hosted by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's representatives for the AI Security Summit, Jonathan Black and Matt Clifford.
