Yield Guild Games, often abbreviated as YGG, has shared its latest community update for Q2 2022. Highlights for the same were shared in an official blog post.
As the second quarter of 2022 has come to an end, YGG has shared some of the significant events and milestones that it has achieved. From dominating Axie Infinity esports to new subDAO, YGG had a happening Q2.
YGG Q2 Community Updates: What Happened in the Last 3 Months
The guild dominated the AIR tournament, unveiled a new subDAO, partnered with new games, and achieved much more.
Here’s a quick rundown of it:
Yield Guild Games Dominates the Esports SceneYGG Elite dominated the Axie Infinity Retreat tournament, the biggest online-to-offline Axie Infinity tournament. Itachity won first place, while Elm0momo and BigGabbie bagged second and fourth place.
In addition to this, YGG Managers Cup, a charity tournament, was won by YGG Elite. The $35,000 USD prize was donated to Gentle Hands, a Philippines-based child, and youth agency.
Finally, the guild’s Scholarship Managers unveiled ‘YGG Scholars Tournament’, which is an Axie Infinity esports tournament.
YGG Becomes a Swiss AssociationIn Q2, YGG transformed into a Swiss Association named “Yield Guild Games”. Some of the key changes will include: membership and rights to token holders, better flexibility to establish a DAO system, and making subDAOs sub-associations for greater autonomy.
Japan Gets a subDAOIn addition to the existing six subDAOs, YGG has created a new one in Japan. Each subDAO operates differently to align with the diverse markets. For better coordination, regular roundtable meetings of the whole ecosystem will be held.
Guild Continues to Offer Scholarships As mentioned in the future plans blog post, YGG aims to broaden its scholarship opportunities further. In Q2, 15% of NFTs were reallocated which increased in-game earnings by 400%. As of now, YGG offers scholarships for Axie Infinity, Aavegotchi, Thetan Arena, Fancy Birds, CyBall, and Legends of Venari. YGG’s scholarship programs earned over $600,000 USD.
YGG Partners Up with 5 More GamesTo date, Yield Guild Games has 51 partnerships, and 5 of them were finalized in the last quarter. YGG has paired up with Walken, My Pet Hooligan, Phantom Galaxies, Castle Crush, and the fifth hasn’t been unveiled yet.
