Arono said he would still contribute as a board member and strategic advisor. However, his priority is getting the best possible treatment for a full recovery.
Non-fungible token (NFT) entrepreneur Wylie Aronow of Yuga Labs the team behind Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and CryptoPunks is taking time off following a congestive heart failure diagnosis to prioritize his health.
In a Jan. 28 tweet to his 144,900 followers, Aronow said he had made the difficult decision of a heart failure diagnosis after experiencing numerous symptoms over the past few months. The NFT entrepreneur explained that while his "mild" symptoms would still allow him to lead a "basically normal life," his condition deteriorated so rapidly that he had no choice but to quit his job.
The Yuga Labs co-founder did not set a date for when he hopes to recover and return to work. However, Alano confirmed he will continue as a board member and strategic advisor.
This isn't the first medical diagnosis to put Aranow out of work. Alano revealed that he suffered from chronic illness in his 20s that hindered his progress in his career. Aronow also expressed his excitement about working alongside the company's new CEO, former Activision Blizzard president and COO Daniel Alegre. While Aronow did not provide any details on what he would do as a strategic advisor, Aronow recently announced on November 8, 2022, that he would be proposing a new royalty model for NFT creators.
In February 2021, Aronow co-founded Yuga Labs with Greg Solano. The most notable NFTs developed by the company include CryptoPunks, BAYC, MeeBits, and Othersidemeta.
