Due to the popularity and programmability of the Ethereum chain, we have seen countless tokens based on the ERC-20 token standard emerge. So how many ERC20 tokens are there and Types of ERC20 tokens to buy in 2022. If you do not know yet, let’s take a look at the article below.

How many ERC20 tokens are there?

As such, there are currently over 450,000 ERC20 token contracts, according to Etherscan. We have to agree that this number is completely insane. However, you should also keep in mind that new tokens are still created every day. The increase in ERC20 tokens is not surprising as many programmers are turning to Ethereum development.

Each ERC20 contract is defined by the contract address and the total supply of tokens available to that address. However, it also has some optional components. Therefore, the latter is also tended to be provided in order to provide more details to the user. Optional components of an ERC20 contract include the token's name, symbol, and scale. Let's summarize the details of ERC20:

- Contract address (required).

- Total supply of tokens (required).

- Token name (optional).

- Token symbol (ticker symbol [optional]).

- Number of decimal places for the token (optional).

Types of ERC20 tokens to buy in 2022

1. Lucky Block (LBLOCK) - Overall Best ERC20 Token to Buy

2. Chainlink (LINK) - Top ERC20 Token with Innovative Use Case

3. Loopring (LRC) - Innovative Layer-2 Scaling Solution for Ethereum

4. Maker (MKR) - Best ERC20 Token for DeFi Applications

5. Polygon (MATIC) - Popular Scaling Framework for Ethereum

I hope this article will help you to learn how many ERC20 tokens are there and Types of ERC20 tokens to buy in 2022. Despite its many benefits, the ERC-20 standard is far from perfect. "Severe problems" with the standard have been used to steal at least $3 million, and transactions can take a long time to process during periods of high Ethereum congestion.
