The crash exposed an $8 billion hole in FTX's accounts, leaving investors and customers scrambling to recoup their funds. In this article, we will discuss, "How Much Did Tom Brady Invest In FTX? Big Losses in FTX Collapse." Let's get started.

How Much Did Tom Brady Invest In FTX?

Tom Brady is the most well-known person to support and invest in FTX; he may also have experienced the most personal loss. Before FTX Trading filed for bankruptcy, the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers held more than 1.1 million common shares, or almost $45 million, in that company.

Although he no longer has any stake following the collapse, he had supported the exchange and costarred in multiple advertising videos with his now ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.

Big Losses from the FTX Collapse

Other stockholders, such as venture capital company Sequoia Capital, which also made significant investments in FTX and its companies, have already totally written down their investments. On Nov. 9, Sequoia wrote a letter to its limited partners informing them that it now views $210 million investment in FTX as having been a complete loss.

The majority of these institutional investors bought stock during FTX's fundraising events. The cryptocurrency exchange raised financing in February of last year, valuing it at $32 billion.

As a cryptocurrency exchange, FTX carried out orders on behalf of its users, accepting their money and purchasing coins. As a custodian, FTX kept the clients' digital currency.

The company then leveraged the cryptocurrency assets of its clients to produce funds through market making or borrowing through the trading division of its sister company, Alameda Research. In the summer of 2022, FTX utilized the money it borrowed to save other cryptocurrencies.

In November, FTX and Alameda found themselves short of cash, following a run on the bank caused by the decision of their rival Binance to sell $530 million of FTT, the cryptocurrency issued by FTX, which served as collateral for the loans making up their balance sheet.

There are also allegations of misuse of clients' funds.
