Discord is a great way to interact with your gaming buddies via voice and text chat. But sometimes we want to report some of toxic pals and you do not know how to report someone on discord, well this article is for you. Today we will talk about reporting on discord. Let's find out by reading the article below.
How to report someone on discord?
There are steps you need to take to successfully report someone who is harassing, spamming, threatening, or just abusing others in chat. You may find that your entire server is engaged in harmful activity that violates the Community Guidelines.
You can't simply click the "Report" button on Discord, at least not on the desktop app. Instead, you'll have to find some ID codes that Discord's team can use to investigate violation messages. Follow these steps to report on Discord :
1. Click the gear icon next to your name in the lower left corner of the screen.
2. Select the Appearance tab.
3. Scroll down to the Advanced section of this page. You'll see a toggle labeled Developer Mode. Open it.
4. To get three different ID codes, go to the relevant message and right-click directly on the username.
5. Choose Copy ID.
6. Paste the number you copied somewhere and label it "User ID" or something similar. Even if the user changes their username, the ID will remain the same.
7. Right-click on the message itself and select Copy ID again. This time, you will get the ID number of the message and channel. Paste it and label it "Message ID" just like you did the other.
8. Go to the server icon on the left side of the screen and right click on it.
9. Select "Copy ID" a third time and paste it along with the other two.
10. Label this "Server ID" or something similar.
11. Send your report.
I hope this tutorial will help you to learn how to report someone on discord. Before submitting a report, please review the Discord Community Guidelines page. This lists what is not acceptable on Discord. If someone violates these rules, their behavior may fall into one of the above categories and be reportable.
