Navigating the NFT space requires up-to-date information and knowledge of major projects. But while new collections rise to the top and disappear in a matter of weeks, there are also blue-chip NFT collections. These are highly prized because they have the characteristics that differentiate them in the market. Find out all about them in our full article "what are Blue-Chip NFT collections?"

What are Blue-Chip NFT collections?

Blue-Chip NFTs refer to non-fungible tokens that have skyrocketed in value, and market watchers believe these digital assets have a long way to go. Factors used to determine whether an NFT has good status include brand awareness, community engagement, use cases and utility, celebrity endorsement, reservation price and sales volume.

In the traditional stock world, blue chip companies are well established companies that are globally recognized as reliable investment destinations. Blue-chip companies generally have a reputation for providing quality products and services, weathering recessions, and turning a profit in adverse economic conditions. It's no surprise that the concept of good assets extends to NFTs. NFT boom in 2021 made history with several NFT projects selling for hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.

A small number of projects have emerged in recent years that can qualify for good status, and Blue-Chip NFT collections may become more common as the market continues to grow.

What makes an NFT collection blue-chip?

The NFT industry isn't that old and everything is moving fast, but some collections are more stable. For these investments, they are blue chip companies because they are the most stable in the industry. But what exactly makes it a blue chip? See some pointers below.

- The premium NFT collection has a long-term value proposition.

- The team behind the project has a strong presence and respect in the industry.

- There are clear use cases for tokens beyond speculation.

- And finally, they built a passionate community around them.

Examples of Blue-Chip NFTs

Now that you know how to identify Blue-Chip NFT collections, learn about some of the world's most prominent projects. Here are some examples of Blue-Chip NFT projects:

1. Boring Ape Yacht Club

2. Cryptopunks

3. Vee Friends

4. Art blocks

5. World Of Women

Are Blue-Chip NFTS a good investment?

Blue-Chip NFTs can be good investments, but most of them are very expensive. The uniqueness of each NFT means that even NFTs in the same collection can vary significantly in price.

If you are a new investor, start with the cheapest in the collection. They are affordable and are usually the easiest to resell for an immediate profit. If you can't afford to invest thousands of dollars, try looking for NFTs that might have a good status in the future. Of course, this is not easy. Thousands of NFTs are created every day, and finding the best chips of the future takes effort. Look for great teams releasing (or planning to release) long-term NFT projects that haven't received much attention yet.

There are still opportunities for lucrative profits, especially now that mainstream marketplaces like eBay are also joining the NFT craze. All Blue-Chip NFTs start somewhere, and if you're lucky, you might find one that's going to the moon.

Conclusion

The NFT field is still in its infancy, and few projects qualify as blue-chips. Better NFTs may emerge as the NFT market matures. Because of the general lack of long-term data, it can be difficult to know which projects will be the blue-chip of the future. However, the factors discussed here(What are Blue-Chip NFT collections?) may make the decision easier.
