Etherscan Points are a new loyalty system launched by Etherscan to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Unlike tokens or cryptocurrencies, these points are not tradable and hold no monetary value. Instead, they act as rewards for active community participation, allowing users to earn perks through campaigns and activities on the platform.

What are Etherscan Points and how do they work?

Etherscan Points are not on-chain tokens. They cannot be transferred, traded, or sold. Instead, they are tied directly to your Etherscan account. The points are earned through specific tasks, such as joining campaigns, completing challenges, or sharing experiences.

How can you earn Etherscan Points?

To get started, users must have a registered and active Etherscan account. The current 10th-anniversary campaign is only open to accounts created before August 12. 2025. Ways to earn include:

Claiming an OG Reward, which grants between 500 and 11.000 points based on account age.

Unlocking the 10th-anniversary badge by linking an Ethereum address.

Sharing an Etherscan Moment on X (formerly Twitter) using the hashtag # 10YearsofEtherscan.

Participating in daily check-ins, quizzes, and other activities listed in the Points Hub.

Can Etherscan Points be redeemed for rewards?

Yes. Points are redeemable within the Points Hub for various perks and rewards, though Etherscan plans to roll them out gradually. Users can track their balance directly from their account dashboard. Points are non-transferable and expire 12 months after being earned unless otherwise noted.

What rules and limitations apply to Etherscan Points?

Etherscan has set strict terms to prevent abuse. Automated scripts, duplicate accounts, or any fraudulent activity can lead to disqualification. Points may be forfeited, and accounts may be terminated at Etherscan’s discretion.

Conclusion

Etherscan Points bring a new community-driven dynamic to the blockchain explorer’s ecosystem. While they hold no monetary value, they serve as recognition for long-time supporters and active users. For those eligible, this is an opportunity to collect rewards, badges, and perks while celebrating Etherscan’s milestone anniversary.
