If you don’t know crypto and NFT slangs, then you surely won’t understand what crypto whales or any NFT bros say. So you must learn crypto slangs if you want to fit in. This article is an ultimate guide to Bitcoin, NFT, and crypto slangs.

There is an excessive amount of lingo, jargon, and acronyms in the field of Web3, a catch-all phrase for the next generation of the internet that incorporates blockchain technology. While the decentralized finance (DeFi) and NFT communities have adopted many of these terminologies and developed some new ones, Crypto Twitter (CT) has used many of these expressions for years.

So here is the list of the most used crypto slangs:

GM — Happy morning. In Discord servers, Telegram chats, and Twitter, it's a word that encourages positivity, welcomes others, and fosters a sense of "community" among cryptocurrency and NFT traders.

GN — Good night. Similar to gm, but used in the evening. It’s often used as a signal the user is logging off for the night.

ALPHA – Knowledge or inside information.

ANON – An online user who prefers to remain anonymous. When someone uses the word "anon," they're referring to an amorphous individual. The phrase is frequently used in casual and sarcastic contexts. "Dear Anon, please don't FUD my baggage," for instance.

BAGS — Assets

DEGEN — A degenerate.

DIAMOND HANDS – Holding something for a very long time

FP/FLOOR PRICE — The NFT's lowest "buy now" sale price.

FREN — Friend/s

GRIND/ GRINDING — Working hard

HODL — Hold on for dear life

LFG — Let’s fucking go

MINT — NFT primary sale

MOON — Significant increase in price

NFA/ DYOR — Not financial device, Do your own research; Disclaimers often used on social media by users who don't want to be held responsible if you follow their trading recommendations for cryptocurrencies or NFTs.

NGMI — Not gonna make it. a dismissive or unfavorable expression used to characterize individuals or endeavors that won't be sustained over the long term.

NORMIE — Someone who lacks crypto knowledge

PAPER HANDS — alternative to diamond hands. People who acquire and sell assets over shorter periods of time—typically a few minutes to a few months—are said to be "paper handed" or "having paper hands." Paper currency bills are referred to as "paper" in paper handing. Paper handlers frequently panic-sell assets early to obtain liquidity, then awkwardly observe from the sidelines as the asset's value rises.

Because they haven't had an asset long enough for it to increase in value, folks with paper hands often make less money than those with diamond hands. Users can find out which NFTs they have previously "paperhanded" using Paperhands.gg.

RUG/RUGPULL – A scheme or deceptive undertaking in which the creators vanish overnight (with their money yoinked from the project). Rugpulls have occurred in NFTs, DeFi, and crypto. Everyone is susceptible to "becoming rugged."

WAGMI — We're all going to survive. a phrase used by NFT communities to promote optimism and the notion that everyone will prosper financially in the NFT industry, whether or not that is actually the case.

WHITELIST/WL/ALLOWLIST — Pre-sale list of cryptocurrency wallet addresses that permit first minting from a fresh collection. "Wen WL?" means "When Whitelist," "When I Can Get On The Whitelist," or "When Is The Whitelist Opening?" Some people prefer the name "allowlist," which also refers to an NFT presale list, to "whitelist" because they find it distasteful or objectionable.

Those are the most used crypto and NFT slangs. I suggest you use them in the crypto community very often. They would make you look familiar with the NFT and blockchain community.
