The “temperature check” proposal to deploy decentralized exchange (DEX) Aave on zkSync Era mainnet has received strong support from the Aave community.
More than 99% of Aave voted when voting closed on April 16, AAVE Token holders voted in favor of launching version 3 of the lending protocol on the zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM).
Offerings will be limited to US dollar coins, according to a proposal first made on March 26. Now that the temperature checks indicated "positive sentiment", the next steps outlined in the proposal would be to move to another stage for further discussions, followed by risk parameter assessment and finalization of the proposal.
If the next phase is successful, the proposal will be submitted for voting and on-chain governance approval. Only about 0.02 percent voted against the proposal, with another 0.02 percent abstaining.
According to the proposal, deployment on zkSync could benefit the Aave ecosystem by introducing new users to decentralized finance and solidifying Aave as the primary lending platform in the zero-knowledge ecosystem. The Aave community previously voted to deploy the Aave V3 codebase on zkSync , which was approved in another off-chain vote.
Decentralized exchange Uniswap will also launch on scaling solutions provider Polygon's azkEVM solution following a successful governance proposal. In November 2022, Aave changed its governance procedures after a $60 million short attack ultimately failed.
