Almost 20,000 pieces of land in the Shiba Inu metaverse have sold since the Shiba Inu land sale began.
As of June 26, some 19,600 pieces of the land in the SHIB metaverse have sold to 5600 holders, with each owner holding an average of 3.5 pieces of land.
So, as the Shiba Inu Metaverse enters its next phase through new hires, here’s the status of the land sale.
Latest Shiba Metaverse Statistics
Of the 36,431 lands available in this introductory phase of the Shiba Inu metaverse, 53% of this land has sold. If this land sells out, the metaverse map is also set to expand to over 100,000 plots of land.
Six holders of land currently own over 200 separate plots in the metaverse, with the most being 212 plots. According to Etherscan, the top 100 holders own around 30% of the minted plots.
The most expensive piece of land in the metaverse, located close to the centre, sold for 11 ETH in April. It was worth $13,500 at that time.
Hosted on SHIB.io, the current metaverse exists only as a map that displays the plots of land. Holders are eagerly awaiting further information on what features the metaverse will include, and how it will incorporate the likes of SHIB burns and the Shiboshi NFTs.
Some SHIB community members are already planning for the metaverse. Two Shiboshi holders are working on a metaverse game experience, not to be confused with PlaySide’s Shiba Inu Game. They hope to host this interactive experience on a plot of land within the metaverse.
Technically NFTs, the metaverse plots of land are now one of three NFT collections linked to the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
Alongside the Shiboshi NFTs, the Welly NFT collection minted earlier in June. The Shiboshis remain the most sought-after of these three NFTs, with a higher floor price than their counterparts.
