Pi Network has been around for three years and has managed to amass a large community for tokens that are not yet listed on any exchange.
The coin, which can be mined directly from a smartphone, has been working hard to move to the mainnet, a move that seems to finally achieve what the community craves most exchange listings.
On Monday, cryptocurrency exchange Huobi Global posted an announcement on its website outlining its work on the Pi Network listing. The cryptocurrency exchange revealed to the community that it is eyeing the upcoming cryptocurrency mainnet launch, after which it plans to review the possible listing of Pi on the exchange. The launch of the mainnet is expected to bring a full Web3 experience where developers will be able to build decentralized applications (DApps) on top of the Pi Network. The launch is expected to take place in two phases: a closed and an open mainnet launch. This two-pronged approach is reportedly meant to allow more time to create more applications, as well as transfer existing applications on the testnet to the mainnet.
This comes at a time of increased uncertainty about the future of the Pi Network, considering how long the Pi Network has been around. The post on Christmas Day reads:
"Huobi has always been committed to supporting top projects in community relations. With the active recommendation of the Pi Network community, Huobi will pay close attention to the update of Pi Network about the upcoming mainnet launch. Once the mainnet upgrade is successful, Pi will pass the project as soon as possible. Check online."
According to reports, the Pi Network community has more than 30 million users. Its official Twitter account currently has over 2 million followers, more than Cardano and Litecoin on the platform. The move to a full Web3 platform is the latest in a series of developments by the Pi Network team ahead of the mainnet launch.
Decentralized applications have already been launched on the platform. PiBridge, a decentralized exchange (DEX) on the blockchain, recently announced an IDO for its native token. Pi Network itself released Pi Browser, which supports both Web2 applications and decentralized applications on Web3.
I hope you will now know about Huobi Listing is going to happen. It was previously expected that the Pi Network mainnet would be released in mid-2022. However, a 2023 launch is more likely.
