Nolan Bushnell, the visionary behind Atari and the creator of the iconic game Pong, expressed his optimism regarding the future of Web3 gaming, particularly in terms of enabling ownership within virtual worlds. Speaking at the Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum in Hong Kong on August 25, Bushnell engaged in a discussion with Yat Siu, the co-founder of Animoca Brands, to explore the past, present, and potential future of the gaming industry. While this financialization has led to issues such as toxicity in some play -to-earn games like Axie Infinity, Siu believes that the inherently capitalist nature of these games can provide a valuable financial education to younger players, enhancing financial literacy.
