The Cardano Foundation is collaborating with Petrobras, a Brazilian state-owned oil giant, to advance blockchain education and explore potential applications within the energy sector. Announced on December 20, this initiative involves the Cardano Foundation conducting blockchain workshops for Petrobras' workforce of 45,000. These educational sessions will leverage content from the Cardano Academy, accessible through Petrobras University. Petrobras, established in 1953, stands as the largest corporation in both Brazil and South America, boasting revenues of $124.7 billion in 2022.
This educational program will encompass a variety of blockchain use cases and applications, complemented by interactive quizzes. To kick off this venture, the Cardano Foundation facilitated two virtual workshops focused on blockchain regulations in Brazil and globally. Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Petrobras, noting it underscores the rising corporate interest in blockchain education and the increasing influence of the Cardano Foundation. The collaboration aims to both educate and identify novel applications for blockchain technology.
Participants who complete the blockchain training will be awarded certificates. Moreover, the first 500 individuals to partake in the training will receive unique, dynamically changing non-fungible tokens (NFTs). These NFTs, created in conjunction with Petrobras’ Education Committee, will serve as digital trackers, evolving to represent each participant's progress and achievements throughout the training.
The Cardano Foundation's involvement is pivotal in nurturing and promoting the Cardano blockchain ecosystem, playing a significant role in its development and wider adoption. This partnership aligns with Cardano’s strategic five-year goals set in 2021, which included forging stronger ties with Fortune 500 companies, diversifying on-chain activities, and broadening the range of industries utilizing blockchain technology.
