Social media platform Twitter has suspended the popular Dogecoin tipping bot, which allowed users to tip creators in the leading meme-inspired cryptocurrency. Some ardent members of the DOGE community are now urging Twitter's new owner, Elon Musk, to check it out. The billionaire entrepreneur and Tesla/SpaceX CEO has been a leading advocate for the token.
An account created for a bot using Dogecoin to facilitate Twitter native tipping has been suspended. A Twitter user named Dogecoin Designer observed that Twitter suspended the DOGE tipping bot “for no reason.”
A user tagged Elon Musk, while noting that the bot is a great way to spread the token among the community. In particular, this bot lets users send DOGE-denominated tips to their favorite content creators.
Another Dogecoin enthusiast, MyDogeCTO, believes that since Twitter has stopped using the only tool that can seamlessly send DOGE to other users, the social media giant "better build something cool for Dogecoin." Not adding DOGE micropayment and tipping features, he further suggested, would be a huge slap in the face for DogeArmy.
Notably, prompting the introduction of Dogecoin into Twitter's ecosystem. Dogecoiners remain hopeful that with Musk as Twitter’s new owner, it’s only a matter of time before the microblogging platform starts adopting meme coins in one way or another. Recently, news emerged that Elon Musk plans to implement encryption in the upcoming Twitter payment system. The company has already started applying for state-based regulatory licenses across the United States, which would allow it to introduce payments to the platform. Many Dogecoin superfans have speculated that DOGE will be involved in some way.
Still, it is unknown whether Musk will implement Dogecoin payments on Twitter in the near future.
