This funding round was led by General Catalyst, a venture capital firm, with strategic involvement from Saab, a Swedish aerospace and automotive manufacturer. Helsing's primary mission is to advance AI technology for the defense of democracies, emphasizing its commitment to this cause.
The co-founder of Helsing, Gundbert Scherf, highlighted the company's dedication to using AI as a crucial tool in safeguarding democratic values. He stated that Helsing was established based on the belief that AI plays a critical role in enabling democracies to protect their core principles .
