P0x Labs, the development team behind Manta Network, has successfully raised $25 million in Series A funding, led by Polychain Capital and Qiming Venture Partners. The financing round values the company at $500 million. Alongside this milestone, Manta Network has introduced ced its layer 2 infrastructure, Manta Pacific's testnet, within its zero-knowledge (ZK) application ecosystem. The raised funds will be utilized to expand the Manta Pacific network, attract more users, and explore various use cases.
Manta Network CEO Kenny Li highlighted the main objective of Manta Pacific, which is to simplify function and application development, ensuring user-friendliness. Although ZK has gained recognition as a valuable proposition, it can be challenging for developers specializing in decentralized ized applications, as they may lack expertise in cryptography or face a steep learning curve. Manta Pacific overcomes this obstacle with its ZK application layer, allowing for seamless integration into applications with minimal code.
Li envisions the ultimate goal of implementing ZK applications in patient data to achieve self-sovereignty and ownership of personal medical information. However, the realization of this goal may take years due to challenges in accessing and aggregating fragmented hospital data, as Hospitals lack incentives to effectively manage this data or adopt blockchain technology.
Manta Network has identified a financial use case, issuing pledged tokens to users based on their holdings on platforms like Binance. Privacy concerns arise when users are reluctant to verify their identity due to wallet exposure. To address this, Manta Network introduce s a privacy layer through ZK-enhanced staking tokens, ensuring user privacy while enhancing the usability of staking tokens for identity purposes.
Manta Pacific's testnet offers a variety of ZK applications for users to explore, including zkHoldEm, a fully on-chain private Texas Hold'em game; zkMe, a protocol for private and verified credentials; and zkPass, a privacy protection protocol for data verification. Since its launch in April 2023, Manta Atlantic's flagship private non-fungible token offering platform has minted over 300,000 zero-knowledge Soulbond tokens across key ecosystem partners, including Arbitrum, Galxe, Linea, and Cyber Connect.
