The Swiss nonprofit, the NEAR Foundation, and the New York University School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) have partnered to present a new web3 and blockchain-focused workshop. The workshop revolves around the intersection of blockchain technology and the sports industry.
The course includes an introduction to blockchain and digital assets, including their growing application in sports. Education also includes hands-on technical experience.
The NEAR Foundation provides the content and handles the delivery of the program. The foundation aims to continue its existing efforts to raise awareness of blockchain applications. The seminar takes the form of a three-day non-technical course. The class is open to NYU SPS students, alumni, faculty, and industry partners and will be held on February 10, 17, and 24.

Jarrod Barnes, Clinical Assistant Professor at the SPS Tisch Institute at NYU, also discussed the workshop program. Barnes explained: "Our students, faculty and industry partners are eager to discover how blockchain and Web3 can integrate with sports and other industries to generate real-world value, while developing the skills and knowledge to create the applications of the future.
"This workshop, hosted by NYU's SPS Tisch Institute for Global Sports and the NEAR Foundation, will provide participants with hands-on experience and a working knowledge of Web3 technologies to help advance their careers and help us develop the next generation of industry leaders and innovators"
In addition to the Web3 and blockchain workshop, NYU SPS is partnering with NEAR to launch an NFT rewards app for its students.
NYU SPS will also receive support from NEAR in identifying technology development approaches, selecting development partners, and liaising with development teams. The school aims to improve the student experience through new methods of student motivation.
