The SHIB Telegram administrator account, which had recently been compromised, was swiftly restored by the Shiba Inu team. Just a day after the attack, RagnarShib.eth, on Twitter, confirmed the security of the account after transferring data to a new phone. Security measures were enhanced by changing passwords and introducing two-factor authentication (2FA) for X profiles to prevent potential breaches.
This incident stemmed from criminals hacking Telegram accounts to promote fake BONE token airdrops, a scam highlighted by a user named Vet Kusama, who cautioned against clicking on any such links.
Over the past few weeks, Shiba Inu has issued numerous warnings to its community about various threats that could jeopardize investors. LUCIE, Shibarium’s marketing strategist, urged individuals to conduct thorough due diligence before engaging with the ecosystem. There have been instances of malicious actors exploiting the project's logo and the name of a layer 2 blockchain solution in their fraudulent schemes.
Additionally, Shibarmy Scam Alerts, a dedicated account, emphasized the importance of exercising extreme caution when connecting cryptocurrency wallets to unfamiliar decentralized applications (Dapps). They highlighted that scammers have become adept at creating counterfeit Dapps that closely resemble legitimate ones associated with Shiba Inu (SHIB), Bone ShibaSwap (BONE), Doge Killer (LEASH), and other meme coins.
Furthermore, Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya cautioned the community against using the SHIB-related token known as Calcium (CAL) for transactional purposes. CAL was specifically designed for minting and relinquishing BONE and is not expected to hold any future value, a point emphasized to safeguard users from potential financial risks.
