StepN, a lifestyle app powered by the Solana blockchain, is making a significant move by distributing 100 million FSL points, valued at around $30 million, to its user base. This generous airdrop, announced on April 10, allows users to exchange FSL points for StepN’s GMT tokens at a 1:1 ratio. Additionally, these tokens can be utilized for forthcoming minting activities involving StepN's non-fungible tokens (NFTs), offering users access to exclusive rewards and prizes.
Expressing gratitude to its dedicated community members, StepN's CEO, Shiti Manghani, emphasizes the importance of rewarding loyal users. The first phase of the airdrop is specifically targeted at badge holders and core players, rewarding them based on their in-app achievements' complexity.
To participate in the airdrop and claim FSL points, users are required to register for an FSL ID, facilitated by the developer responsible for managing the StepN ecosystem. These points can be further utilized within the ecosystem's NFT marketplace, known as Mooar, as well as in the strategy game Gas Hero. The $30 million airdrop initiative is set to run until the end of April, providing ample opportunity for users to benefit.
Launched in 2021 by FSL, StepN offers users the ability to earn rewards by engaging in physical activities such as walking, jogging, or running. By purchasing virtual Sneaker NFTs and linking their smartphones, users can unlock rewards issued in GMT tokens, which feature an inflation mechanism and a supply cap of 6 billion. Currently, the diluted market cap of GMT tokens stands at $1.57 billion.
In addition to earning GMT tokens, players have the opportunity to use them for minting new sneakers or enhancing existing ones within the app's marketplace. This marketplace also enables users to rent out or sell their NFT sneakers, with earnings conveniently stored in an in-app wallet equipped with exchange functionalities. With over 5 million users, StepN continues to provide an innovative and rewarding experience for its growing community.
