Sui's network has experienced a significant increase in daily transactions, surpassing even Solana, thanks to a simple blockchain game called Sui 8192. This game, similar to the popular 2048 puzzle game, involves sliding tiles to combine them until reaching a tile worth 8192. It was launched in October 2022 and has gained popularity among users.
Each instance of Sui 8192 mints a new object, similar to the creation of an NFT, and every move in the game is recorded as a transaction, requiring gas fees. Developed by Ethos Wallet, a Sui wallet provider, this game is the first fully on-chain game on the Sui blockchain. It serves as an example of how applications can evolve within the Sui ecosystem and is open source.
Artemis, an on-chain analytics provider, reported that Sui Network's transaction volume recently exceeded Solana's, reaching over 20 million daily transactions. However, it's worth noting that Artemis calculates Sui Network's transaction blocks rather than individual trans actions, which differs from its methodology for others chains like Ethereum. Another project called Bullshark Quests, initiated by Mysten Labs, has also contributed to Sui's development by incentivizing players to participate in various Sui games, including Sui 8192.
Players of Sui 8192 and other Sui games have the opportunity to compete with each other, complete tasks, and earn SUI token rewards. The Sui Foundation will provide 5 million tokens as rewards. Sui, which launched as a layer 1 blockchain in May 2023, was initially dubbed the "Solana killer." At the time of writing, the price of SUI was slightly down at $0.678.
