The rate of growth in the cloud hosting sector keeps rising, and new technologies are becoming more fascinating and enjoyable. Examples of information stored and made available quickly on the cloud include Netflix, Spotify, and Instagram. Cloud gaming refers to the hosting and processing of video games on internet servers. We are going to talk about the top three cloud gaming services in 2022.

First of all, what is cloud gaming?

A cloud gaming service allows you to play video games on distant servers online. When you use cloud gaming, you don't need to download the game onto your local device; instead, the game streams right to your device and is played remotely from the cloud. similarly reduces the requirement for heavy-duty computers. It's also known as "game as a service" or "game on demand."

Additionally, as all information is maintained in the cloud, using cloud gaming services gives you smooth access to your games and stored data wherever you are. Any device, including a laptop, smartphone, or tablet, can be used to play games as long as it is connected to a reliable internet connection.

So, what are the best cloud gaming services in 2022?

Google Stadia

With Google Stadia, you can enjoy your favorite video games on your devices without having to purchase a gaming console or a powerful computer. In addition, you may play top-tier games regardless of your computer's hardware because the rendering is done on Google servers before streaming to your device.

Google Stadia offers two different pricing tiers: Free and Pro. With the free plan, you can forego the drawn-out registration process and immediately enjoy 60 free minutes of the entire game. However, you can only access a small number of games with this Free package, including Infinite, Recharged, Shades of Horror Playable, Calico, etc.

Overall, the latency of streams is determined by your internet speed. To attain 720p resolution at 60 frames per second and stereo sound, Google recommends at least 10Mbps. Furthermore, you will want at least 20Mbps to get 1080p, 60 frames per second, and HDR video. It will cost you about 35 Mbps for 4K resolution.

NVIDIA GeForce Now

Another cloud gaming service that provides easy access to play games hosted on its own remote servers is NVIDIA GeForce Now. Similar to Google Stadia, Shadow, and PlayStation Now, GeForce Now is accessible via iOS safari on your iPhone or iPad and on any Android device with more than 2 GB of RAM.

GeForce Now doesn't offer a games library like other cloud gaming services like Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Sony PlayStation. Also, you cannot purchase games like (Google Stadia or Amazon Luna). Instead, it offers a more comprehensive cloud gaming service like Shadow and connects to your Uplay, Steam, or Epic Games Store online accounts so you may play or purchase your favorite games from those online stores.

For the RTX 3080 plan, GeForce Now advises a minimum 15Mbps connection for 720p at 60 frames per second, a 25Mbps connection for 1080p at 60 frames per second, and a 35Mbps connection for 1440p at 120 frames per second. Additionally, the service claims a latency of under 40 ms.

Shadow

Shadow is a remote-accessible Windows computer in the cloud. Windows, Android, Android TV, iOS, macOS, tvOS, and Linux are all supported by the platform. With its promise of "high-performance gaming, accessible to everyone," Shadow is one of the most recognized cloud gaming services available.

Using Shadow implies you're choosing a high-end PC that you can access remotely, unlike GeForce, which connects to digital rights services. It therefore supports all games that would typically function on a Windows 10 PC. Therefore, as long as you're not using disks, you can essentially download and play any game of your choosing.

Any internet connection, including cable, DSL, fiber, and even mobile 4G LTE, should have a minimum speed of 15 Mbps, according to the platform. You have the option of using Ethernet or a 5GHz Wi-Fi network for the best experience.

Which online gaming platform should you choose?

You have a variety of options for cloud gaming services. Each has advantages of its own, so you should read the information carefully before choosing. A strong internet connection is one thing you cannot do without. A strong internet connection is necessary for the best cloud gaming services in order to function properly.

Future gaming on the cloud will be considerably more prevalent. The popularity of video games is skyrocketing, and cloud gaming increases accessibility to entertainment.
