Immutable, a Web3 gaming company, has announced its partnership with Transak to integrate it as the exclusive payment provider for Immutable's zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM). This integration aims to facilitate direct fiat and Web3-based payments within gaming environments.
The integration will feature Transak's services within Immutable's infrastructure, including Immutable Checkout and Immutable Passport. Immutable Checkout serves as a comprehensive game trading infrastructure for developers, offering a customizable interface with various payment options for integration.
Transak’s suite of services includes ingress, egress, and non-fungible token (NFT) payment channels, enabling fiat transactions via credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Harshit Gangwar, Transak’s head of marketing, mentioned that these payment services will empower in-game trading of digital assets, with numerous high-quality games set to utilize these features, many of which are expected to launch in 2024.
Michael Powell, Immutable's head of product marketing, confirmed that the initial integration of Transak will be seen in leading Web3 games like Guild of Guardians, Gods Unchained, and Cross The Ages.
Transak boasts a robust track record, serving over 350 applications, including major Web3 wallet solutions such as MetaMask, Ledger, Trust Wallet, and Coinbase Wallet. Its payment infrastructure is well-established in the Web3 gaming sector, actively employed by games backed by Animoca Brands like Decentraland, Splinterlands, Revv Racing, and MotoGP Ignite.
Gangwar highlighted Transak’s global reach, enabling users from 160 countries to pay for cryptocurrencies and NFTs through over 20 payment methods. He mentioned that fees are contingent upon the chosen payment method and cross-border transactions, generally ranging between 0.49% and 3.49%.
Under the agreement with Immutable, Transak will provide custom pricing tailored to their collaboration, aiming for rates lower than their standard pricing. Transak's infrastructure allows payments across 75 blockchains, facilitating transactions in more than 170 cryptocurrencies. The partnership signifies the increasing focus of investment firms, like Animoca Brands, in the Web3 gaming space, with potential mass adoption driven by integrations such as The Open Network blockchain and Telegram, which has a user base exceeding 800 million and offers access to Web3-enabled games.
