Twitter has added more than 30 cryptocurrencies to its $Cashtags innovation, which displays real-time prices for assets.
Since taking over last October, Elon Musk-led Twitter has shown its commitment to crypto assets with new crypto-friendly innovations and more promises for the future. The social media giant has added more than 30 digital assets to its $Cashtags feature, which enables users to view prices and other data on assets by searching for icons. The newly listed token will join the ranks of market leaders bitcoin (BTC) and ethereum (ETH), whose price indices merged last year.
Twitter adds 30 of the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market cap, including (XRP), Binance USD (BUSD), Solana (SOL), Polygon (MATIC), Cardano (ADA), Litecoin (LTC), Shiba Inu (SHIB ), Dogecoin (DOGE), etc. The Dogecoin community has been the most excited since DOGE was added to the feature after it was unexpectedly left out last year. Despite the addition of 30 assets, several were left out in the cold as Polkadot (DOT), Tron (TRX) and USD Coin (USDC) failed to make the cut, although after the initial announcement the policy will continue to expand to include more assets.
Twitter Business first launched on December 21, announcing the $Cashtags feature, which gives Twitter users access to price indices, data and charts when they search for or post top financial asset names with a dollar sign or known asset symbol. The feature starts with two digital assets, BTC and ETH, partnering with Robinhood and TradingView to provide real-time price indices.
Since taking over Twitter, Musk has shared a glimpse of his vision for "Twitter 2.0," including the possible integration of cryptocurrency-based payments on Twitter.
