Cassava Network – an African Web3 platform focused on non-fungible tokens (NFTs), gaming and loyalty rewards – launched the third version of its platform, integrating UniPass, a non-custodial smart contract wallet that allows users to use email Address instead of mnemonic and gas.
To move Africans from Web2 to Web3, the partnership enables users who create a Cassava account to automatically enroll on UniPass and hold, send and receive on-chain digital assets across multiple Ethereum Virtual Machine blockchains.
In an interview with Cointelegraph, Cassava Network co-founder Mouloukou Sanoh explained how African users and businesses are entering the Web3 space with the new release. “With Cassava v3, we’re making it easy for African users to interact with their favorite Web2 and Web3 brands. When users engage with these brands, they earn CB Coins and other on-chain rewards as specified by our partners.” Sanoh added that while CB Coins the reward tokens used in the network currently exist off-chain, users will soon be able to exchange them for on-chain assets. CB can then be used to purchase concert tickets and mystery boxes on the platform.
Regarding enterprise use of Cassava v3, Sanoh said, "Cassava v3 provides a channel through which partners can grow their African markets". Commercial brands working with Cassava Network can also gain engagement and attention across different platforms by using the new "Community" feature to create communities on the network, create tasks for users to participate and earn rewards. In the interview, Sanoh explains how the new release will improve the business economy in Africa. Sanoh said, "Cassava v3 is a bridge between global Web3 businesses and African Web2 users." Sanoh also mentioned that so far, 90% of the partners participating in the Cassava v3 community function are African businesses.
