The act of stealing ideas from their original creators and presenting them as someone else's own is a common occurrence across various fields. Chubbies NFT was one of them.

About Chubbies NFT

Chubbies NFT refers to nonfungible tokens associated with the brand Chubbies. Chubbies is a clothing company known for its retro-inspired shorts and swim trunks. Chubbies NFTs are digital assets that represent unique and collectible items related to the brand. These NFTs can be bought, sold, and owned on blockchain platforms, allowing fans and collectors to engage with Chubbies in the digital realm. The specific content and features of Chubbies NFTs would depend on the offerings and initiatives introduced by the company.

Hans, a pixel artist and design student, who goes by the same name on Instagram and Twitter, dedicated himself to creating pixel art for games. Back in 2016, he designed incredibly adorable pixel characters as part of a game he was developing called "Mascot Girl," which had started gaining some recognition.

However, Hans was alerted on Twitter that a company called ChubbiesNFT was utilizing his artwork without permission. To make matters worse, ChubbiesNFT had managed to sell all of the stolen art, generating an astonishing $3.2 million in profits.

The incidents surrounding ChubbiesNFT caused a significant uproar on social media platforms and Discord. As a result, the price of a Chubby, the NFT associated with Chubbies, plummeted from 1 ETH to 0.04 ETH. Individuals who had previously purchased the NFTs from Chubby bies felt deceived and morally conflicted about supporting a project that had engaged in art and animation theft.

Summary

Chubbies NFT was a stolen art piece which sold out for 3.2 million dollars.
