You might be wondering about whether you can trace an ETH address or not, well this article is for you. Today we will talk about tracing ETH address and how to send Ethereum Anonymously. Let’s find out by reading the article below.

Can you trace an ETH address?

Yes, Ethereum transactions are traceable, but not so quickly. Ether transactions are classified as pseudo-anonymous because tracing the identity of the Ethereum wallet owner or recipient of the funds requires extensive chain analysis and data mining.

The Ethereum blockchain is transparent, meaning its transaction data is publicly accessible. Anyone who knows the wallet address or transaction ID can easily use Etherscan to track the movement of funds.

However, the information from the blockchain explorer is insufficient to link the wallet with its real user. But through careful chain analysis, an individual or organization can trace back to the source of the original purchase of ETH.

How To Send Ethereum Anonymously?

I believe you want to send ETH anonymously. So let’s follow the steps below:

1. Use/create a web3 wallet

2. Mask your IP address

3. Send ETH anonymously with Tornado Cash

How to Send Ether Anonymously Using Tornado Cash?

Before using Tornado, please be minded. It is still experimental software so use at your own risk.

Visit tornado and connect your MetaMask or whatever web3 wallet you have.

Select ETH in the Token dropdown and enter the amount you want to deposit. In my case, I will only deposit a minimum of 0.1 ETH. You will then be prompted to back up your notes. Be sure to copy it first and store it in a safe place. Then click Send Deposit. You will then be prompted to confirm on MetaMask. After depositing, you can check via etherscan that the transaction went through. That is your Ethereum balance is locked in the contract. Now it's time to send them to the newly created wallet.

I recommend you generate a new wallet with MetaMask since you are using a browser extension VPN. If you want to use a mobile or desktop wallet, be sure to install and use a VPN for your entire device every time you send a transaction.

Once you have your new wallet, click Withdraw and enter your previously saved note and paste your new wallet address. Then, click Exit.

You will then receive a confirmation that your ETH has been withdrawn. That's it! You now have a brand new wallet that has no connection to your identity. Enjoy your newfound anonymity.

I believe this article will help you to learn whether you can trace an ETH address and how to send Ethereum Anonymously. Remember that one of the benefits of inspecting transactions is that it allows you to quickly identify when low gas fees are delaying or truncating your transactions. Such transactions typically remain pending as long as gas fees remain below the minimum required to interact with Ethereum.
