Metamask is a popular Ethereum-based cryptocurrency wallet as well as a gateway to blockchain apps. In this article we are going to tell, how many Metamask wallets are there and why do Metamask have many users.

How many Metamask wallets are there?

According to the announcement of crypto software giant ConsenSys, the popular wallet MetaMask, which people use to store Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies with Web3 applications, now has over 30 million monthly active users.

That figure reflects a 42% increase in last year, when MetaMask reported 21 million users, and it is positioning itself as a key player in the emerging Web3 economy.

Why does Metamask have many users?

One of the biggest reasons why people choose Metamask is because it is easy to connect with almost all Ethereum-based platforms.

Additionally, it is free, and you can use it either through a web browser extension, or through your smartphone, on an app. This means that you are able to directly download it onto your phone easily.

It is a "hot wallet" service, which simply means that it is continuously connected to the Internet. As a result, you can move your cryptocurrency assets around whenever you need to do so with ease.

Whether you are trying to create your first NFT, blend assets through a decentralized finance protocol, or just buy and transfer tokens that are Ethereum-based you were going to need to make the most of something like Metamask.

This will enable you to connect to any platform built on the Ethereum blockchain and store any assets you create or purchase.
