Two of the major fiat-to-cryptocurrency exchanges in the USA are Coinbase and Gemini. The well-known Winklevii twins control one of them, while the other is publicly held and traded on the stock market. Today we are going to look at how to transfer cryptocurrency from Coinbase to Gemini.
How to transfer cryptocurrency from Coinbase to Gemini?
We first enter into our Coinbase accounts, where we can access our dashboard and check our available funds. On this page, you may find anything pertaining to your Coinbase account. From trading to payments to notifications, as well as immediately purchasing cryptocurrency using fiat currency or sending and receiving cryptocurrency into and out of Coinbase. Then, we will see the “send/receive” button at the top right corner, click on it. This will pop up another tab that will start our progress of transferring from Coinbase to Gemini.
Then you need to click on the “send” button and you will be redirected to basically what is called the “withdraw” anywhere else. It is the same thing, just named differently.
You will have to pick which coin you want to send. You could do this at the “assets” part if you want to, or you could simply pick from this list. There is also a search function to help you navigate as well.
When you click on send and pick which coin you want to send, it will ask you for an address to send. Before we could continue with the Coinbase part, we need to move to Gemini and get the deposit address from there.
Getting deposit address from Gemini
Although there may be a few more steps at Gemini, it will still be simple to locate everything.
You will see your assets and a list of the cryptocurrencies you own when you first log in. To begin, select the "transfer" icon at the top. To go to the deposit page, click the "deposit into Gemini" button that you can see.
We will choose the coin we want to deposit on this page. From the drop-down menu, choose your preferred currency, and then click Continue to view your address. Copy your address once you have it in order to return it to Coinbase. You could also generate a new one, or label the current one from the same page if you want to.
Back to Coinbase
Now we go back to Coinbase with the address from Gemini to finish the last stage of the transfer.
When you got the address, paste that into the “to” part and make sure that everything else is correct. It will show you the fees involved, the total, and even an estimate of how long it will take to withdraw as well. If you are sure the information is correct, click on “send now” and it will be on the way.
Well, I hope now you know how to transfer cryptocurrency from Coinbase to Gemini.
