NFT stands for "non-fungible token". Irreplaceable means that something is unique and cannot be replaced. So today we will discuss whether ICP is an NFT or not and how do you buy NFT with ICP. Let’s find out by reading the article below.

Is ICP an NFT?

The Internet Computer is the world's first blockchain that runs at web speeds and has unlimited capacity. It also represents the third major innovation in blockchain, alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum a blockchain computer that can scale smart contract computations and data, run them at network speeds, process and store data efficiently, And provide developers with a powerful software framework. Recently, many NFT projects have sprung up on Internet computers. Thanks to the internet computer, I am now addicted to NFTs. These NFTs run on-chain, and they're not just JPEGs. The answer to the question is “Yes”, ICPsquad is and NFT.

How do I buy NFT with ICP?

Below are the main steps that must be taken to buy NFTs on the internet computer blockchain.

Step 1: Buy ICP on CEX

To buy NFTs on the IC blockchain (backed by the DFINITY Foundation), the first thing you need to do is get some ICP cryptocurrency. In order to earn ICP (Internet Computer Protocol), you must buy cryptocurrency on one of the many centralized exchanges (CEXs) that allow ICP trading. Some of the most popular ICP buying CEXs include Binance, Coinbase, and Kucoin. However, the CEXs available to you will depend on your geographic location.

Step 2: Transfer your ICP to Infinity Wallet

You cannot buy NFT directly from CEX using ICP. You must transfer tokens to a crypto wallet that can hold ICP. While you have several options, we recommend our very own Infinity Wallet. There are several good reasons to use the Infinity Wallet to buy NFTs on an internet computer.

Infinity Wallet is currently the only wallet integrated with every major NFT marketplace on IC, including Entrepot, Yumi, CCC, Ceto, and Gigaverse (look for Meme Cake and ICPVerse integrations in the near future).

You can use Internet Identity for extremely secure wallet login access - this is just one of the many ways Infinity Wallet is designed to work closely with the DFINITY Foundation's products. Infinity Wallet is also ideal for DeFi as it supports IC's token standard ICRC-1, as well as our own IS20 protocol and IC Ledger tokens. We will also integrate with BTC and ETH tokens, because BTC and ETH integration happens on the IC at the protocol level.

Once your ICP is safe in your Infinity Wallet, you can proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Connect your wallet to the marketplace

The marketplace will ask you to connect a wallet or log in. You will see a list of wallets integrated with the site. Select Infinity Wallet from the list and click Allow to confirm that you want to connect the wallet to the marketplace. Once your wallet is connected, you can buy, sell, and view current NFT assets, among other operations. Features vary by market.

Step 4: Search the market for your desired NFT

Now comes the part where you have to do your own research. InfinitySwap does not provide financial advice on which NFTs to buy. Of course, we are biased towards some NFT projects that we are working with some partners that will be released to you in the near future. You will eventually be able to buy these from different NFT marketplaces as we are working with many major projects and artists and all the top marketplaces. You should research social accounts and websites of an NFT project.

Step 5: Buy NFT

Once you find the NFT you want to buy, click "Buy Now" (depending on which marketplace you're using, the button may say something slightly different, but it's clear you're buying an NFT). The marketplace should ask for confirmation and will remind you how much ICP you agreed to send in exchange for NFT. Your Infinity Wallet will also ask for confirmation. Click "Confirm" to complete the transaction.

I hope this article will help you to learn whether ICP is an NFT or not and how do you buy NFT with ICP. Remember that the transaction cost on IC is 0.0001 ICP, so you need to have more money than you paid for NFT to transfer ICP.
