As expected for 2022, there are plenty of new cryptocurrency releases coming out this year hoping to become the next big crypto coin.
2021 was a breakout year for cryptocurrencies such as Shiba Inu and Dogecoin, with Bitcoin touching a new ATH.
While 2021 may have set the bar quite high, we're now five months into 2022, with a slightly declining market. Let's take a look at some leading crypto coins that are releasing this year.
New Cryptocurrency Releases 2022
As always, plenty of new cryptocurrency tokens and coins have launched in the first and second quarters of 2022.
Starfish OS,(IGT), Thunder Brawl (THB), Miidas NFT (MIIDAS), Rise of Empire (ROEMP), KUY, CEJI, and ZelaaNFT are among the most notable recent additions to CoinGecko, for example. Alongside these, the Optimism L2 airdrop also gained a significant amount of attention.

2022 appears to be the year for DAO-related cryptocurrencies. DAO tokens such as Oasis DAO, AssangeDAO, and CoreDAO are among those to have launched in the past few months. Moreover, the BAYC powered ApeCoin was also launched recently which is attracting credible momentum.
Aside from new cryptocurrencies, 2022 also brings with it a trove of new NFT projects, too.
