Stellar (XLM) is a decentralized peer-to-peer network that is often considered XRP's main competitor. So, why is stellar good for sending remittances? Let's explore more in this article.

Reasons To "Why Is Stellar Good For Sending Remittances?"

Stellar Is Cheap To Use

One of the reasons why people use cryptocurrencies is because they are cheap to use. The transaction fee will depend on the amount you are sending, but it is generally very low. For example, if you send $100 through the network, the transaction fee will be around $0.01. That's about as cheap as sending money gets.

Stellar Supports Micropayments

Stellar offers a blockchain-based service that is cheap enough for the likes of small publishers to accept payments. It also makes those micropayments instant.

Stellar Has No Limit On The Amount Of Money You Can Transfer

There are certain restrictions when you are using certain money transfer services, and one of them is the amount of money you can send. The most common amount is $500, but some services have higher limits. But Stellar has no such restrictions. You can send a transfer as high as $100,000 – and it will be processed in a matter of seconds.

Stellar Transactions Are Extremely Fast

It uses the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) to accelerate the network and process transactions in a matter of seconds. That's a significant improvement over the Bitcoin network, which takes an average of 10 minutes to process transactions.

Stellar Supports Multiple Currencies

Stellar is a global network that supports nine different currencies. So if you want to send money to Brazil, you can use the Stellar network to send reals or any other supported currency.
