What is a black swan crash? A black swan crash is a remarkably uncommon occurrence with serious repercussions. Even if many people incorrectly assert after the fact that it should have been expected, it cannot be predicted in advance.

What is a black swan crash?

A black swan crash is an unforeseen occurrence that goes beyond what is often anticipated of a situation and could have fatal repercussions.

Black swan occurrences are distinguished by their great rarity, significant effects, and the pervasive belief that they were clear in retrospect.

Nassim Nicholas Taleb, a professor of finance, author, and former Wall Street trader, popularised the term.

Taleb defines a black swan as an event that is so rare that not even its likelihood of happening is known. The incident is mostly composed of three parts:

- When it does occur, the results are terrible.

- It can only be explained in retrospect.

- After it occurs, observers are eager to explain it and make predictions about how it may have been foreseen.

The Latin phrase "in terris nigroque simillima cygno rara avis," used by the Roman poet Juvenal in the second century, can be directly linked to the Black Swan Theory, also known as the Theory of Black Swan Events.

It was once believed that black swans did not exist at the time this proverb was created, but the Latin phrase really means "an odd bird in the land that looks a lot like a black swan."

A black swan occurrence in the financial (& cryptocurrency) markets is very unfavorable, resulting in broad devastation and famously unpredictable consequences.

The most well-known instance of a black swan event in the financial world is the Global Financial Crisis of 2008, which was brought on by the abrupt, catastrophic collapse of the once-burgeoning real estate market.

Conclusion

The world is currently going through and recuperating from one of the most spectacular instances of a black swan event. The newly discovered coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, meets all of Taleb's criteria for this occurrence. Unaware of its impending arrival, the pandemic quickly revealed that no nation was prepared to handle it. The disastrous effects of the global epidemic, such as record-breaking unemployment rates, stock market collapses, steadily rising death tolls, etc., were more and more clear to us every day.

No one knows when a black swan event occurs, just as many people can't predict seeing a black swan amongst a flock of white ones.

What is a black swan crash? Well, I guess we helped you to understand it.
