The project's team whitelisted nearly 20.000 individuals who had the opportunity to mint a tubby cat NFT for 0.1 ETH. However, despite the effort to encourage genuine ownership, the event faced a significant influx of bots, as anticipated by the developers.
Out of the available spots, approximately 15.000 NFTs were successfully minted, while the remaining slots were dropped to the public. The bots swiftly sniped the event, with one bot managing to acquire a staggering 950 tubby cats by spending 100 ETH for the minting process and an additional 200 ETH (equivalent to around $500K) on gas fees.
