What Does Snapshot Mean? It is the capacity to capture the state of a computer system, storage device, or blockchain ledger at a particular moment in time. Let's explore more.

What Does Snapshot Mean?

The "state" of a blockchain at a particular block height is called a snapshot. It's a snapshot of all the transactions that were active on the blockchain at the time of the snapshot. The last block added to the blockchain is defined here as the latest set of transactions included in the snapshot, and is referred to as the "block height" in cryptocurrency parlance. These snapshots can be used to retrieve the following information:

-The general condition of the blockchain

- The balances of each user's wallets and the tokens they own, including NFTs

- Transaction details of all tokens and NFTs

NFT Metadata

With the exception of your private keys, a snapshot shows the viewer everything about your wallet. Although it may seem scary, this is exactly how information is organized even on active blockchain networks, and can be utilized for a variety of things.

What Are Snapshots in Crypto Airdrop Events?

Snapshots of an airdrop event are routinely captured before each round. On the basis of each blockchain address's balance that was accessible during the snapshot time, tokens are distributed.

To capture each token holder's balance at a specific time, snapshots are taken (ie, block height). After the snapshot is taken, users can typically move their money around without risking their eligibility for that round of payout.

Hopefully, reading this article, "What Does Snapshot Mean? What Are Snapshots in Crypto Airdrop Events?" can help you to understand it better.
