This article is about what is a blue checkmark on twitter. This symbol used to indicate that the account was verified by Twitter, meaning that the identity of the person or organization behind the account was confirmed.

What is a Blue Checkmark on Twitter?

The blue checkmark now means that the account has an active subscription to Twitter Blue, a premium service that offers extra features such as reduced ads, tweet editing, longer tweets, and text formatting. To get the blue checkmark, you need to pay $8 per month via the web or $11 per month via iOS and Android. You also need to meet some eligibility criteria, such as having a complete and active account, a confirmed phone number, and no signs of being deceptive or violating the Twitter Rules.

The blue checkmark is not a guarantee of authenticity or notability anymore. In fact, Twitter has stopped accepting applications for verification under the previous criteria (active, notable, and authentic). Instead, it has introduced two new types of checkmarks: gold and gray.

The gold checkmark is for verified organizations that pay $19.99 per month for a special subscription that includes enhanced analytics, priority support, and exclusive access to events and partnerships. The gold checkmark is meant to showcase the credibility and influence of these organizations on Twitter.

The gray checkmark is for government accounts that are verified by Twitter for free. The gray checkmark is meant to help users identify official sources of information and services from governments and public institutions.

How to Get Verified on Twitter in 2023?

If you want to get verified on Twitter in 2023. you need to follow these steps:

1. You must be actively subscribed to Twitter Blue. To get Twitter Blue, simply click on the button for Twitter Blue once you’re logged in. On web, it will be in the left-side menu, and on mobile it will be under your profile. You can select to pay annually (for a discount) or monthly.

2. Your account must have a display name and profile photo.

3. Your account must be active in the past 30 days to subscribe to Twitter Blue.

4. Your account must have a confirmed phone number. To confirm your phone number, go to Settings and Privacy > Account > Phone Number and follow the instructions.

5. Your account must not be deceptive or misleading. Your account must have no recent changes to your profile photo, display name, or username (@handle). Your account must have no signs of being misleading or deceptive. Your account must have no signs of engaging in platform manipulation and spam.

6. Wait for Twitter to review your account and grant you the blue checkmark. The checkmark will appear once their team reviews your Premium subscribed account and if it meets their requirements.

Bottom Line
