The DeFi market has been rapidly expanding and thriving to bring the latest innovations to the table. DEX Aggregators are one of them. In this article, we will discuss, "What is a DEX aggregator, and what is the difference between DEX and DEX aggregator ?” Let’s get started.

What is a DEX Aggregator?

The term "DEX" stands for "decentralized exchange," which is based on blockchain technology for increased security. The only issue these decentralized exchanges have to deal with is a lack of pricing and liquidity for smaller tokens.

To solve this particular issue, DEX Aggregators are created. They are also known as Liquidity Aggregators.

DEX aggregators, to put it simply, are financial protocols that provide traders and investors with straightforward access to a variety of trading pools through a single dashboard. They rely on a complicated algorithm taking into account multiple factors before selecting the best possible provide—specific token swap across the available platforms.

Since decentralized exchanges are gaining popularity and cryptocurrencies are being more widely used, DEX aggregators have become a crucial service.

DEX vs DEX aggregator

Since their inception, decentralized exchanges (DEXs) have been widely adopted. Despite certain similarities, DEXs and DEX aggregators are very distinct from one another. Despite the fact that both are based on blockchain technology, they serve very different purposes. Both platform trade and invest but in their own different ways.

The sole thing that sets DEXs apart from DEX aggregators is that DEXs doesn't give their users the option to liquidate. However, DEX aggregators were developed to address this exact problem. These liquidity aggregators offer their traders and investors the chance to source liquidity from numerous DEXs. On the other hand, they also offer the best rates for token swaps, which DEXs cannot provide. However, DEX aggregator integrations are often profitable to DEXs as they make way for additional users and volume.
