Anyone with access to the Internet and a cryptocurrency wallet may participate in publicly traded firms like Amazon, Google, and Tesla thanks to tokenized stocks. So, how to buy tokenized stocks? Let's see.

What Is a Tokenized Stock?

When comparing cryptocurrencies to equities, there are significant distinctions. The intermediate ground is occupied by tokenized stocks.

A share of equity in a publicly listed corporation, such as those traded on the Nasdaq or S&P 500, is roughly equivalent to a tokenized stock. The distinction is that tokenized stocks are represented by digital tokens.

Shares often arrive in an investor's brokerage account when they purchase a standard stock on an exchange or during an initial public offering (IPO). The process for tokenized stocks is the same but with one key difference: because these shares are based on a blockchain, they can be bought and traded on a cryptocurrency exchange.

When producing a tokenized stock, a custodian and an investing institution are frequently engaged. After purchasing the underlying stock, the institution deposits it with the custodian. Tokens are issued on a blockchain based on the shares that the custodian has in reserve. Each token's cost is linked to the share's worth.

Once listed, the tokens can be purchased and exchanged like any other cryptocurrency on a cryptocurrency exchange. Holding a stock token gives the holder exposure to the underlying stock in a similar way to actually owning it, including any appropriate dividend payments. , however, truly possess any stock. They possess a derivative with actual shares as backing.

How to Buy Tokenized Stocks with Trust Wallet

Using Trust Wallet is probably the simplest way to obtain exposure to stocks in tokenized form. WalletConnect or the in-app DApp Browser (for Android smartphones) lets you connect to all of the most popular DApps on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and eleven other blockchains (for iPhone).

Here are the instructions for utilizing PancakeSwap to purchase Google (MGOOGL BEP20) tokenized shares.

To trade, go to PancakeSwap and select "Trade." The listed set of stock tokens will then appear after clicking "Exchange."

You may look up the stock tokens, which include Tesla, Netflix, Google, and Amazon. The one(s) you want to purchase will then be imported so that they can be traded. In this instance, we import MGOOGL and use BUSD to purchase $100 worth (BEP20).

Confirm the swap and, within moments, the purchased MGOOGL tokens appear in Trust Wallet. Just make sure to add the “Wrapped Mirror MGOOGL” token to your list of visible assets in your Trust Wallet.

conclusion

The tokenization of stocks is a relatively recent change in the world of cryptocurrencies and follows a recent wave of DeFi innovation.

Remember that not all decentralized exchanges trade tokenized stocks. They trade "synthetic assets," sometimes known as "synths," instead. These are tokens made with the intention of imitating the performance of other assets. But unlike tokenized equities, they don't have a direct connection to real shares.

The ability of these tokens to be heavily concentrated into a small number of wallets is another crucial point. For instance, Mirrored Alibaba (mBABA) data shows that the top 10 holders control 100% of the currency's supply. Many other tokenized stocks have 90% of their supply controlled by the top 10 or top 50 wallets.

How To Buy Tokenized Stocks? Well, I hope now you know how to do so.
