DigiByte has been working hard to improve Bitcoin's scalability and network security. But what is Digibyte? Is DigiByte better than Bitcoin? If you do not know that, this article will help you to understand. DigiByte claims to have a proven and tested solution that is faster and more secure than blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

What is Digibyte?

DigiByte (DGB) is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and blockchain platform. DGB tokens are used as a medium of exchange for decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts built on the DigiByte blockchain.

Digibyte is based on the three different layers. The top layer is used for smart contracts, decentralized applications, and customizable tokens. The middle layer is the public ledger where DigiByte native tokens can be moved across the network and used as their underlying asset. The bottom layer is the core infrastructure of the system, including decentralized nodes, client software, and communication between nodes.

Who invented Digibyte?

Jared Tate is the founder and creator of DigiByte and has been working on the project from 2013 to 2020.

How does Digibyte work?

DigiByte implements functionality common to many cryptocurrencies, allowing users to send and receive DGB tokens globally in irreversible and permissionless transactions. Additionally, the network allows users of its software to design decentralized applications (dapps) for clients using its customized suite of smart contracts.

The DigiByte blockchain has three layers, each responsible for a different aspect of the network. These are the three layers and how they work:

Apps/DigiAssets: The top layer runs smart contracts that can be used to build decentralized applications (dApps). The blockchain's DigiAssets protocol also operates on this layer, enabling the creation of various digital assets.

Digital Assets/Public Ledgers: The middle tier is responsible for security and management. It contains an immutable public ledger of all DigiByte transactions.

Core Protocol/Global Network: The bottom layer handles communication and manipulation procedures. This is how the nodes running the DigiByte software and securing the network communicate with each other.

Is DigiByte better than Bitcoin?

DigiByte claims to be more secure than Bitcoin because its blockchain supports various mining mechanisms. The DigiByte blockchain can process transactions faster because new DigiByte blocks are added more frequently than new blocks for Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency with the largest market capitalization.

Is DigiByte a good investment?

DigiByte is constantly growing. Since its blockchain network is open source and has a strong community, it is likely to continuously advance and integrate new technologies. While the token is capped at 21 billion, the value of DGB tokens may increase as mining rewards continue to decrease.

So I hope now you will learn what is DigiByte and whether is Digibyte better than Bitcoin or not. You can decide whether to invest in it or not. If you do, keep in mind that cryptocurrencies can be volatile and therefore prices can change rapidly. That's why it's important to be patient and consider it a long-term investment.
