What is Crypto Slang?

Being a newcomer to the crypto industry, it can be frustrating to overhear investors, traders, and enthusiasts using slang terms or acronyms that you don't understand. HODLing, or "holding on for dear life," is the practice of refusing to sell a cryptocurrency, whether it is in an uptrend or a slump, With the hopes of making it to the MOON (Getting rich). HODL isn't spelled wrong, it is pronounced “hold” and spelled “HODL”!

DYOR

Do Your Own Research, or DYOR, is a crypto acronym slang that stands for "Do Your Own Research," and it is used as a disclaimer when an analyst or enthusiast advises investors to buy in a specific cryptocurrency. Everyone must do their research on a cryptocurrency before making an investment decision. DYOR can also be used in place of NFA, which stands for (Not a Financial Advice) and is a disclaimer that is made whenever a trader, investor, or crypto enthusiast offers someone financial advice in cryptocurrency.
