INJ gained more than 100% shortly after the launch of Injective Bridge v2 and the launch of ATOM's DEX-based perpetual futures. So what is INJ and what is the Injective Blockchain type? If you do not know yet, let’s read the article below.

What is INJ?

Injective Protocol is a decentralized finance protocol designed to provide permissionless trading capabilities in any derivatives market. This way, Injective users can create and trade in a fully decentralized manner on any derivatives market of your choice.

The Injective Chain is an important part of the Injective Protocol, which was developed to support Ethereum-consistent DeFi applications. The INJ chain is implemented as a Cosmos SDK module built using the EVM on Tendermint called Ethermint. Injective's ecosystem consists of relayers, blockchains, dApps, data, exchanges, NFTs, oracles, stablecoins, validators and wallets. In addition to this, Injective's incubator Burnt Finance is a fast, low transaction fee NFT trading platform, and it is the first decentralized NFT protocol on Solana.

What is Injective blockchain type?

Injective Protocol is built on the Cosmos blockchain as a layer 2 application. The protocol uses a cross-chain bridge that allows traders to access cryptocurrencies from platforms like Ethereum and Polkadot.

Unlike other popular decentralized exchanges like Uniswap or Bancor, Injective Protocol does not use an automated market maker (AMM) formula to manage liquidity. Instead, Injective follows the order book model that has been widely used on centralized stock and cryptocurrency exchanges for years. In doing so, Injective aims to match the efficiency of traditional finance with the transparency of a decentralized exchange.

How Does Injective Protocol (INJ) Work?

Injective chain

Injective Chain is a decentralized exchange (DEX) protocol built on top of Cosmos, which also allows the transfer and trading of Ethereum tokens. The chain is designed to address the scaling and throughput limitations encountered by many layer 1 blockchains, while still allowing developers to use their familiar Ethereum development kits.

Injective exchange

Injective Exchange is an order book model exchange based on the popular 0x protocol. The Injective team open-sourced all components of the exchange, aiming to build a platform with transparency and accessibility. These open source components include the user interface, smart contract functionality, and order book management system.

Injective Exchange is also working to eliminate trade front operations by implementing a Trade Executive Coordinator (TEC). TEC creates delays to ensure that new orders cannot be placed before old ones, in an attempt to resolve advanced information obtained by some market makers or bots.

Injective hub

Injective Hub is a dashboard that provides users with the overview and functionality they need to get the most out of the Injective protocol.

Users can access the Injective Hub to stake their INJ and become a network validator responsible for maintaining the security of the proof-of-stake blockchain. INJ holders also have the option to delegate their tokens to network validators and receive a percentage of the rewards in return.

Hopefully, this article will help you to learn what is INJ and what is Injective blockchain type. INJ is an ERC-20 utility token with multiple use cases on the Injective Protocol, including providing market-making incentives, governance, and block validator rewards. INJ can be stored in crypto wallets and custodians like Gemini.
